Our history

Berryton Baptist was founded in 1989, when three acres of property were purchased at 6741 SE Berryton Road. This property consisted of a large two story house and a smaller one story house. The small house was renovated to be used for worship, while the larger one was used for Sunday school classrooms and other activities. The first worship services were held on February 4, 1990. This newly found mission was dedicated on April 29, 1990.

In the spring of 1991, ground breaking for a new building began. A group of missionaries from Alabama, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, arrived in June to help pour the foundation and build the new church. With much hard work and dedication by many volunteers the new church building was dedicated on June 18, 1992.

June 7, 2009 Berryton Baptist ordained its first deacons.

In January of 2010, Berryton Baptist called John to become their next Pastor. John and his wife moved into the church parsonage and began January 10, 2010.

Children's Church

Currently, we have a dedicated congregation member that will take the children to a room in the lower level during the sermon on the 1st Sunday of the month.  She will share  a  Bible story and have some fun with games and crafts while grown-ups worship upstairs. It is your choice. Children are always welcome to stay upstairs during worship and sermons.

What our visitors have told us

I was looking for a place that preaches from the Bible, has a Wednesday Bible Study and Sunday Evening service – and I have found my church home.

– Visitor that became a member

This is the friendliest church I have ever been to!

– Several visitors have mentioned this to our members

I like listening to the pastor. He seems down to earth and teaches from the Bible in a way that I can understand.

–  Visitor

We like the smaller congregation where we feel like a family.
